What are Special Collections?

Special Collections is where materials that require specialized security are stored and access for research and use. Materials that a researcher may find in special collections could be in any format, including but not limited to: rare books, manuscripts, photographs, archives, ephemera, and digital records. They are often fragile and one of a kind.Special Collections are much like archives, however, the college archives house more materials relating to documenting the lives of individuals, the founding of the college and other materials relating to the history and community at the college.
