Publishes authoritative, analytic reviews. Annual Reviews publications are among the most highly cited in scientific literature. If you can find a review on your topic there is no better place to start. 1996-current
JSTOR is an interdisciplinary database, containing book chapters and articles from humanities and social sciences journals. You can limit your search to broad subject categories, like history. JSTOR has quite a bit of full text, but draws from relatively few journals, and isn't always the best place to find brand new articles.
Project MUSE offers full text of articles from 600+ current and historic scholarly journals, and book chapters, from major university presses. This database is good for research on literature and criticism, history, performing arts, cultural studies, education, philosophy, political science, gender studies, and more.
