Mathematics and Multiple Cultural Perspectives

Having trouble connecting mathematics and STEM to your MCP requirement? This is the guide for you!

Mathematics (and topics in STEM in general) are historically political subjects. This resource guide was created to help you understand both historical and current research surrounding the role that mathematics has in systems of oppression. In this guide, you will be given resources on:

  • how the MCP requirement relates to your work in Mathematics
  • the colonization of knowledge and why we accredit White European men with the production of mathematics
  • educational policies which continue to enforce systems of power
